Ladies Beach
Our ladies day beach print shows the iconic lifeguard hut on the Salthill promenade.
Ladies Beach on Salthill Promenade got its name from its historical use as a designated bathing area for women. In the past, many beaches had separate sections for men and women to ensure privacy while swimming, Blackrock diving boards was the designated swim spot for men. Over time, Ladies Beach has become a popular spot for all visitors, but the name has remained, serving as a charming reminder of the area's history and its evolution into the inclusive, welcoming space it is today.
